I also would like to have a new easel, watercolor paints, water color pencils, erasers, a good set of pencils, a good set of colored pencils, a sketch book, charcoal chalk, charcoal pencils, oil paints, and acrylic paints. Is that all I need? If not, what else do I need?

That's great you are interested in art! But you have to take it one step at a time. First, you must learn drawing. It's an established fact that you can't paint well if you do not know how to draw. Decide what you want to draw: People, Flowers, Landscapes, Still Life. If you want to learn how to draw everything, then start with People first. Since you are a beginner, all you need to buy is a 2B graphite pencil, paper, and books on how to draw. Buy as many drawing books as you can and study the material in the books and draw the pictures in the books. You should also draw from life, Example: Draw a real person while they are sitting still and watching tv or draw everything in your house. The key is to PRACTICE DRAWING EVERYDAY so you can quickly master drawing skills.
TIPS ON DRAWING:
In order to draw/paint something realistic you must understand how the subject is lighted: 1. Side Lighting 2. Three Quarter/Conventional Lighting 3. Frontal/Front Lighting 4. Top/Overhead Lighting 5. Back/Rear/Rim Lighting 6. Diffused Lighting 7. Stage Lighting.
