Academy schooling for art strategies is likened to that of a harness to a horse for an artist. They have no freedom to develop. The academy trained artist is confined to the rules and regulations of technical training that they acquire upon graduating from the art academy. These academy artists become commercial artist with their learned, practiced and polished technique. From this, all their work looks pretty significantly alike and mass produced. Art is much more than just a straightforward expression but rather it is thought frozen in colorful handworked magic just like the Original Signed Watercolor you can see on this page.
Fine Art has been determined by becoming not only historic, aesthetically valuable, and beautiful and also one of the most tangible among all other art forms. There are a lot of historical paintings and sculptures that date back lots of centuries and are becoming studied, exhibited and treasured in great museums of Fine Art around the world. This makes Fine Art the most superior over the performing arts of music, singing, dancing and above the art of cinematography. Art of entertainment is booming! Hollywood stars, singers and dancers are finding all of the recognitions and having lavish lives, starting in the course of their young years. Even so lots of talented and innovative visual artists get recognized when they are quite old or have passed on. This old dilemma wants to be and could be changed. Art is more than just a simple expression but rather it is thought frozen in colorful handworked magic just like the Original Signed Watercolor you'll see on this page.

I have an original watercolor by "Sandy" but can find NOTHING about the artist.?
The signature is divided into three (3) parts S an dy (not that drastically divided - it's as though the artist lifted the pen/pencil twice when signing. The picture is black and white with a young man and a young girl facing each other (he on the left - her on the right just slightly lower than he) with his right hand caressing her face. The subjects appear to be Hispanic, Italian or Greek - not sure which. I would love to know more about the artist but because of the name, there's too many places to look and I cannot find ANYTHING. I would also love to know if there is any value to the painting if identifiable. Someone who visits my home is QUITE interested in it and I don't want to give it away if it's valuable. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thank you
Sean,
Most artists are unknown. The number of actively painting or sculpting artists grows exponentially every generation. "Sandy" may have painted the piece for someone who knew who she was. It then may have been further passed on to others who could tell each new owner who Sandy was. In time, without a last name, first name, or further reference, it may be that no one knows who the artist was anymore.
Now, certainly, Sandy could be a famous painter someone may identify for you. But, even if that happens, you have to establish for yourself what that painting is worth to you. Do you love it? Do you have your own memory it stimulates for you? Or is it more something to stick on the wall and fill up an empty space? How much is that painting worth to you?
You can have an art appraiser give you an evaluation of the piece's value as a piece of art, and maybe even help you set a price for it. Is it worth enough to you to pay for that service? Think about these things, and the value of your friendship.
Why am I writing this message to the world? I am performing my part to be heard and noticed as a fellow artist and visual creator who is still around and not that old, and would like to create a positive change in a stale existence of the art world. There must be no a lot more innovative starving artists. Accurate talented visual artists must not strive and struggle in poverty all their lives. We artists need to be recognized and nicely rewarded in the course of our lives, within the identical way as movie stars; performers or even ball players get their recognitions and rewards. Art dealers must no additional sell original art pieces from artists which are no longer here to benefit from the sales. No additional art dealers selling past artists original works for large amount of money.
Art dealers shouldn't have any right to resell and capitalize on the function they did not produce and live their lives in luxury by those sales. This will be the worst type of stealing from an artist who's lengthy gone. There are numerous examples of this; one of them is now a famous artist: Vincent Van Gogh, every painting is selling for sixty million dollars. What a shame. When one reads Van Gogh's biography of his difficult poverty stricken life that he lived, often consuming his paints as a way to survive as well as the suicidal ending makes one cry. Vincent Van Gogh doesn't want us to sob, he wants us to prevail and be sure that no more of his unfortunate life saga repeats ever once again. And a lot of other artists want us to alter the unfair life pattern of a talented innovative fine artist. My personal wish is that, when I'm gone none of my original art pieces are ever to be sold. This may be my part in adjustments to the fine art world for superior. Art is much more than just a simple expression but rather it is thought frozen in colorful handworked magic just like the Original Signed Watercolor you'll see on this page.
