The Artist Spotlight is on Emma Join Our Trading Group
Name: Emma Hollerhead

About: Making intricate pieces of art is my passion. I have been drawing and creating for as long as I can remember. My work is filled with whimsical, colourful landscapes, stripy trees, tiny houses, quirky teacups and vibrant blossoms- imaginary, magical wonderlands that I can imagine escaping to.
I have a degree in Jewellery, and was lucky enough to be on a very creative and expressive course. This was when my own personal style began to develop, introducing bright jewel like colours to my drawings as well as experimenting with different materials, textures and techniques. My pieces were theatrical yet delicate and ethereal.
I originally designed inflatable dresses, which have been in numerous exhibitions as well as a book about the history of inflatable design. Since discovering mail art two years ago, my work has grown and developed. I have loved every minute of my journey into altered art.

Fave Artists: I really admire the work of papercutting artists, especially Rob Ryan, I love the way he incorporates words into his papercuts.

Fave Medium: My favourite technique at the moment is papercutting. I find great satisfaction in designing a piece and seeing it slowly and almost magically emerge as it is cut.
